Memphis-Martin Luther King film

Paul Greengrass had been trying to get the film made sine 2010, and after Universal backing out of financing it, the project was put on hold. Now it seems the project is back on track with 2 companies agreeing to finance the film and Forest Whitaker in talks to play the lead role.

The Equalizer Casting

Melissa Leo is set to join Denzel Washington and Chloe Mortez in the film where Robert Mcall (Washington) quits a CIA-alike secret agency and decides to help the hopeless.

Directors locked in for (another) Pirates of the Caribbean film

Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will direct Johhny Depp and the rest of the cast in the next film, beating out Fredrik Bond and SWATH’s director and K-Stew’s not-so-secret lover Rupert Sanders.

Alice in Wonderland sequel

Variety has word that James Bobin is currently in talks to take on the Alice in Wonderland sequel, titled Into the Looking Glass, continuing the story which began with director Tim Burton in 2010. Mia Wasikowska will be brought back as Alice and Johnny Depp as the mad hatter.

Into the Woods

Director Rob Marshall is developing a film adaption of fairytale musical ‘Into the woods’ with Disney. Johnny Depp is in talks to play the lead role, and Meryl Streep is considering the role of the witch. There is currently no official casting announcements or set shooting or release dates.

The Monuments Men

Sony is in talks to develop the film as a directing project for George Clooney. Though if it follows the same route as his last collaboration with Bearman, Ben Affleck will end up directing and Oscar will come calling. No casting has been officially announced, but the film is set for release in January 2014.

Scarlett Johansson to play Lucy

Johansson is set to play the title role of ‘Lucy’ in new action thriller. It is about a young woman forced to become a drug mule. However, the drug gets into her system and makes her powerful physically and mentally. It is set to film right after Johansson finished filming Captain America.
